I have a new project. How should I contact you?
Great! The best way to get in touch is through the project inquiry form.
I need a lot of stuff. How soon should I contact you about my project?
It’s easy to underestimate the amount of time we may need for a project, especially if you’re just starting out and need everything from logo design to content development and web design. Timeline is heavily dependent on the scope of your needs. For custom design and full-scale projects, I book about 6 months in advance. Contact me when you’re truly ready to book a project into your schedule. After all, you’ll be an active member of the team and will need to be available for calls and feedback.
Can we start right away?
I keep a pretty tight schedule so I’m never caught twiddling my thumbs. But, if you submit a project inquiry form, I’ll see what my schedule is like.
How long will my project take?
Same as above: it depends on the scope. The more services required, the longer it will take. If you need a website, remember we’ll need to have things like copywriting and product offerings all sorted out before any design can begin – and that can take some time to get together. It’s safe to assume we won’t get a website up in a month.
How much does it cost to hire you?
It’s hard to say without knowing the details of the project – again, it depends on your needs and goals. The best option is to contact me by filling out the project inquiry form, so we can begin a discussion. Once I know everything I need to know, I’ll prepare quote for you.
I found someone who charges less than you. Can you match their price?
Probably not. Just as you carefully choose who you work with, I choose clients who value the extra effort and attention to detail that I bring to the partnership. There are loads designers and consultants out there who will charge less, but once you’ve worked with me you’ll appreciate the care and dedication that I put into every project.
Do you design websites?
Yes! It’s one of my primary services and the thing I get asked to do the most.
Do you do website development?
In my earlier days, I programmed every site I designed. Nowadays, I’m pickier when it comes to development. If the project is the right fit, I may take on development myself, but for the most part, I partner with a development associate. This allows us more flexibility and is a win-win for everyone.
Do you do provide copywriting services?
I absolutely provide copywriting services. But, like development, I may choose to connect you with a copywriting partner depending on the scope, goals and timeline of the project.
Do you create WordPress sites?
Yes! WordPress is a wonderful CMS platform, good for many uses. Most of the sites I create for clients use WordPress. However, it may not be the right choice for every project. We’ll talk about your ultimate vision and determine the best fit for your needs.
Do you provide printing services?
I don’t provide printing in-house, but I will happily assist with sourcing print bids and finding the right vendor for the job.
We’ve decided to change a number of elements. Can you include them?
Sure thing, but if they add to the scope of the project, I’ll have to charge for them.
We’re in different places. How will that work?
The great thing about this kind of work is that we can do it from anywhere. Once we kick things off together, we’ll decide on the best ways to communicate with one another, whether that’s by traditional phone and email, or something like Skype, Face Time or GoToMeeting. Or, if you happen to be in the DC area, we can meet in person.
How many people work with you?
I’m the only one in my design studio, but I partner with associates in other fields, such as web development, marketing, photography, film editing and copywriting.
Are you hiring or taking on interns?
While I don’t have any in-house design or development positions available right now, business is growing quickly and I would love to hear from you. Say hello.
